My Henderson Robot
This is the story of a little girl and her low-tech, out-of-date robot and all the things they do together—from playing hide-and-seek to eating pickles to battling a giant octopus. If this book had a moral, it would be that it’s awfully nice to have a friend. If this book had a plot, it would be: “Girl gets up, plays with robot, goes to bed. Repeat.” But we wrote this book a long time ago, when friendship was its own virtue, back before we knew about plots and morals, and that books are supposed to have them.
My Henderson Robot is not a Bobbledy Book, strictly speaking, since we made it way back in 2004, when Robbi was in illustration graduate school. But we’re including it here because we still like it and think that you might like it, too.
